Double Luxon/Kurzick
Double green drop + XP from elite cap
Double EOTN points

That's pretty much how 2009 PvE "special weekends" look like (when we exclude Easter, Dragon Festival etc)
This is so exciting. /yawn

What happened to double dye drops? We had that once so why can't we have it again? Or double points on eating sweets? Or... I dunno... just something different
I bet when I go on holiday for a month anet will come up with something I would like to do but won't be able

Nice. I'll get some use out of this, especially since I've got a mostly finished AB zquest sitting in my quest log right now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we already get "double points" for turning in faction for learning a title skill?

Just give us double kill points for faction. It's a lot less complicated.

Don't we get that anyway? your kurz faction fro mcombat is doubled anyway. this just allows those who use the quests get something extra aswell along with the FFF's.

only difference is no Balth points

The weekend specifically says that's it's double points for trading in for amber/jadeite, 'learning' skills or raising alliance reputation. It does not specify double faction for the actual slaying of foes.

What I was asking is - when we 'learn' a new faction-based skill, don't we already get double points? I learn a skill and trade in 3000pts, I receive 6000 faction credit. Does this weekend mean I receive 12000 per new skill learned?

(Because if it does, I have a couple girls I need to hurry and get to Cavalon/HzH!)

(If I'm wrong, it's because the caffeine hasn't kicked in yet. )

Yes. And 20k points for spending 5k faction to raise alliance rep. You get double whatever amount you would normally get, even if the normal amount is already a double dose. So for faction spent on anything that gives double points, this weekend you actually get quadruple points.

Exactly. It is really "quadruple" but just double normal. It's not really "simpler" to have double points from kills. First of all, they have done this several times already, so people are used to it as is. Secondly, if you doubled the rate of actually earning faction, that means people's faction bar will just fill up faster. More "oh crud I'm stuck in this AB game but my faction cap is full" moments.

Also, I think this is the first time since z-quests to have a weekend like this, which is awesome. You can now mass up and fill up your faction bar all week prior to the event, as well as complete (but not turn in) multiple AB/FA, eternal grove, etc Z-quests. Then, you can turn in all your accumulated faction, as well as all those z-quests to get a big boast in faction to turn in again right as the event starts.

It's at least second time since April update.
There was also double rep points for vanq - which makes it 3 weekends to max the title in the last 4 months

/edit
Actually 3 weekends in less than 3 months. I havent seen bigger "encouragement" by anet since I started playing

True that. Maxed Kurzick in those two weekends. Will I go for max Luxon too? Hmmm....

<qq> Maybe for another forum, but is it me, or am I the only one sick of seeing titles being spoon-fed to everyone. I'm a bit miffed because I had to actually motivate myself to do all elite skill captures/prot/guardian/NM/HM dungeon before the z-quest stuff came, so there is a bit of bias, but still. Is this an elaborate carrot and stick by a-net to drag everyone along with the hopes that GWAMM will actually get you something special in GW2, if and when it ever comes out? Pretty soon they will have to create an r7 koabd entitled "God Flying Above Lesser Gods Who Walk Amongst Mere Mortals" </qq>

The title maxes at 10 million faction.
As a PvE player, you have some 8 areas to get this faction in.
And people are complaining it's getting to easy to max?

I'll be playing this whole week to earn those 50k-ish faction so that I can donate them on Friday once this thing starts. And then if I am lucky, I'll fill this bar again during the weekend donating another 50k.
Does that mean I'll be playing for a few minutes per day?
No, it just means I won't spend the few hours per day that I'll be on doing the same area over and over and over again.
